CLIENT: Privateer Place
LOCATION: University of New Orleans
Unmatched Responsiveness: In 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans. Campus Living Village (Century Development at the time), owns the 806 bed student village Privateer Place on the Campus of the University of New Orleans. The damage to the facility resulted in replacement of all furniture. Dickson was instrumental in helping Century Development with a swift insurance recovery, providing expert opinions and supporting data that yielded a full value settlement.
The new furniture pieces were scheduled to be delivered in two phases. During the first phase that began May 22, 2006 it was discovered that an architect specified a desk that would not fit properly in approximately 25% of all rooms. Dickson was able to cut down the desk size 2” such that they fit perfectly in the entire project and completed the entire installation the week of August 23, 2006 This demonstrates the Dickson commitment and ability to customize product due to domestic production, with short notice and to react quickly to solve a potentially huge problem with cost or delay to the customer.
